Similarly engaging in a good faith argument with dishonest people is long past as any kind of a requirement. Its is not a lack of information that separates worldviews - but rather opposing ultimate commitments
The problem is most people are "dishonest" in that they have built a worldview that fits with their situation and changing it is an incredible shock to their system. I saw that during Covid, people would look like they'd been in a serious car crash when they twigged what was going on and why. Most people will do anything to avoid that and while that's the case nothing will change.

The question is what to do? There isn't going to be an "overcorrection" while the masses are fed with takeaways and can watch Love Island.
